Expensive and didn't taste good

A long time ago (about 8-10 years) we last went to the Engel for dinner and were not satisfied, considering the quality of the previous one it was very bad. But since we had only heard good things about the angel lately, we decided to deliver from the angel because of the pandemic. We had a König Hells platter and a portion of gyros. The delivery was fast and the quality of the food was really really good, we didn't expect that. We certainly did not notice that the owners had changed. This is the only way to explain the great quality of the food. We hope that this corona problem will soon be over so that we will turn to the angel again more often. We're really looking forward to it, as long as we will make do with deliveries.

Beware, the worst place we have ever seen. That has nothing to do with Greek hospitality and a bit of Greek flair. The name of the angel and its meaning is exactly the opposite. Absolutely insolence what we experienced there. Dined in this restaurant after the incomprehensible good reviews here. That was absolutely a letdown. It serves a very unfriendly and absolutely unqualified force there. The food was very salty especially the juvetsi with beef. Something like that from too salty unimaginable. I politely complained, it was taken back to the kitchen with a very impolite look. It came back after about 5-6 minutes and it was just as salty and inedible as before. The service there is very ignorant and doesn't belong in a local restaurant at all. There is absolutely no taste of the salty in the food and no trace of the artisanal quality. As already mentioned, it is a mystery to us how the positive reviews come about here. When the bill was comb the food was juvetsi which had gone down and I only tried a small tip of a fork on the bill. After asking me and that it is not fair, Kamm only has to be paid for. It's kind of unprofessional ignorant and greedy. Not even the boss comes up briefly to ask or clarify. This place is not recommended at all. Every simple Greek snack is tastier and more authentic than this local one. Just ice cold rip off! Attention

Six of us were here today, and the service was very unfriendly when we entered the restaurant. Price-performance ratio in contrast to many other Greek restaurants very overpriced. Portions very small. All ordered dishes are too salty. One dish was so overly salty that it was inedible, we let it go back, the waitress was very short and unfriendly and showed no interest and took the dish without a word and after about 5 minutes brought the same dish that the kitchen supposedly had in this one Time to recreate. Unfortunately, this was also inedible and went back immediately. This dish was also listed with the invoice / payment. When asked why you had to pay for it, although it went back to the kitchen twice, there was no answer. Conclusion: very overpriced, food too salty, small portions and extremely unfriendly service. In my opinion, no mistake in the choice of dish but the same opinion for all six people with different foods. We really cannot recommend this restaurant.

In Germany I heard that it is a bit difficult to find flavors like in Greece and yet I want to say that while I was in this restaurant I felt that I was in Greece, what should I tell you first? With the flavors, with the kindness of the owner or with the cleanliness? I can't wait to go again as soon as possible because that's where Greece smells ❤️??❤️

We placed a larger order for delivery and were very satisfied. The food came in the specified time and tasted excellent. The meat was not dry and the starters were also convincing. Gladly again!

Never again It was specially said that please do not ring the bell so that our baby is not woken up. The bell rang on delivery and we can now "cold" our food at some point and "enjoy" the chips. Thanks a lot

Always very delicious Greek food. You can also pick it up or have it delivered. Unfortunately, that produces a lot of garbage. So it's best to eat here and enjoy a beer or wine.

Although the letter box clearly says "No advertising and flyers", the restaurant is throwing in a brochure.

In the old town area, small half-timbered house and very cozy. Greek restaurant, large portions, special requests are met, waiters very attentive and really delicious

Absolute cheek our Hugo the glass for 6.50 euros was not even 1/4 full when asked, the waitress says that would be really ridiculous. The chips for the little ones came when we finished eating and were very laughable and unprofessional. ?

Hattersheim is a nice village with a few good restaurants. Zum Engel a good greek one. They also have the flexibilty to change potatoes with vegetables if asked. Which is the mail reason why I will certainly go back. If I can give a sughestion, just turn down the heating a bit and put more people in the side rooms which are less crowded.

Excellent Greek restaurant. Had the Moussaka and the Riganato Spezial. Most Greek restaurants in Germany go crazy for salt, and all taste the same - not this place. The flavors were unique and delicate, not overpowering. I would recommend this before any other nearby Greek restaurant.

For having been there before, and relatively well served, we came back in family (21 !) for the 2nd day of Xmas. No particular accomodation for us, so all the family was splitted in the room among other people. The "Special Christmas Lunch" was not very famous. All the "soups" as starters were too salty, and the main courses has no particular flavour... The half Duck was good, nothing more. I don't even remember what i took as dessert. The cook was probably overloaded because we have wait for 40 minutes before starters and the main. I found that is a no-sense than trying to do something "commercial" just for making money, instead of making their genuine land specialties (Greek). That should have been probably better...

Had Prawn starter it's worth being here.

Very nice and quick service. Lovely staff and delicious food.

Delivery took forever. For 500 meters as the crow flies over 30 minutes drive. Food was good in taste, the "sheep's cheese with salad" shown is certainly not worth € 9. I will no longer order, I would venture to visit the site again.
